Would you pay more when a cheaper option exists??
Your initial reaction was likely no; why would you pay more for something you could get for less??
If I were to sell you an apple for $1 and the identical apple for $2, you’d feel ripped off. Yet, if I told you that the second apple was organic and typically costs $3, you’d feel like you got a deal.?
But we don’t just pay more for organic fruit and vegetables; we pay for the stories we tell ourselves. This is why a Macbook Pro starts at $2,000, whereas a top-of-the-line gaming laptop from HP feels expensive at $1,200.?
And thanks to our global economy, we no longer compare product-to-product but experience-to-experience.?
I was talking to a colleague who was paying more for a flight simply because he had a good experience with the airline. The plane, pilot, and flight time weren’t even part of the equation.
Will you pay more? Chances are, yes.?
