The flow of debunks about this, that, and the other continues to inundate the internet. One thing that consistently caught my attention is that all research connected to the health benefits of alcohol is leaning to the same side.
Alcohol has no health benefits. Not a single glass turns the less-favourable into something magical to make you thrive.
Substance analysis, volume per person, and the balance of whether a single-malt on the rocks versus a gin-tonic is a better alternative. The studies and findings dig deep into the molecular structure of the boozing environment.?https://bit.ly/4dFvN2j
Alcohol is a drug.
Abstaining from it is better than consistently overdosing on it.
Even though our body makes its own form during the fermentation process in one’s gut, it cannot be compared with what it does not do for health. Even one glass as a nightcap does have an impact on your sleep.
I have not touched a glass of alcohol since 2018. My choices are connected to my why. Health was an important part of it.
Am I now standing firmly behind the philosophy that alcohol is bad for you? Not a chance.
What these reports tend to ignore is that health is more than just the sum of its countable nutrients. Health is more than consumption.
Raising a glass as a family tradition, having a glass of wine on a Friday evening to celebrate the weekend, or having those regular catch-ups with your best friend for a pint are moments that boost one’s health.?
Will I ever grab another drink? Probably not.
Do I support someone who believes it is etched in his/her essence to have a glass? Absolutely.?
The sciences unveil a lot of things.
But not always the whole healthy truth.
