Are you part of the 20 million daily active Teams Users?
#Microsoft announced yesterday that #MicrosoftTeams has now reached 20 million daily active users, up from the 12 million daily active users they announced a couple of months ago. This represents 53.3% increase in just four months, confirming what Microsoft have been saying for nearly 18 months - "Teams is the fastest growing application in Microsoft's history".
Microsoft Teams brings together chat, meetings, calling, document collaboration, and line of business workflow into a single application. Jared Spataro, CFP for Microsoft said that Microsoft's unique combination of services across is "Catching fire, In fact, today Teams has more than 20 million daily active users. What’s more, while these users start with simple text-based chat, they quickly move on to richer forms of communication and collaboration. For instance, last month Teams customers participated in more than 27 million voice or video meetings and performed over 220 million open, edit, or download actions on files stored in Teams.”
These numbers are impressive to say the least but also demonstrates the huge potential for Microsoft (and partners) since this million number only actually represents 10% of the million daily active Office 365 users reported by Microsoft. Just this week we have personally seen two long term (legacy IP PBX customers) confirm to use they are making the move to #MicrosoftTeams voice.
Given the recent announcements around Microsoft 365 Business Voice, I'd also be interested in stats from Microsoft on the number/percentage of Teams users that are now using Microsoft Cloud Voice (aka CloudPBX). We personally expect a huge uplift in Teams across Small and Medium businesses with these announcements.
Back in March this year, Microsoft also announced that Teams was now being used by over 500,000 million organisations worldwide, including 91 of the Fortune 500 companies.
