Are you owning your own expertise?

Hello,

So, we're?in the thick of the?UK election campaign, where were you when it was announced? Hit send and let me know.?I was sat watching Rishi Sunak’s rain drenched election announcement on a sofa in a bar at UKREiiF and all I could think of was why??

  • Why now when there’s clearly a downpour expected??
  • Why was he not holding an umbrella??
  • Why was someone not holding an umbrella??
  • Why weren’t they indoors in the snazzy media room that we know Boris Johnson kitted out for a ridiculous sum?

I started off my career in construction PR?and then I worked in-house for various large organisations in marketing communications roles?where PR and crisis communications were part of my remit. I soon learnt the right questions to ask to make sure that we got the outcomes my business leaders expected.??

But?it's all too easy to forget to that those questions aren't obvious to everyone, and it's all too easy to forget the benefits of experience that's built over time.?

I have often shied away from using the term expert in reference to myself but have realised in the past few years the importance of owning the things that you are indeed good at.?

Often the things that I take for granted or as a given aren’t that way to others.?

And that's where my value and expertise?lies. Even if you don't feel comfortable with the word, it’s all too easy to forget that the things you are expert at really do fast track others on?the pathway to success. Oh, and they mean you're better placed?to help people to avoid situations where they're turned?into a drowned rat meme!!

What things are you expert at??

Regards,

P.S I've got some availability this month so get in touch if you want to update your website, create some amazing content or get a plan in place.??Let's Chat!
