When it comes to publishing content, how do you decide what to post and what to scrap?
I asked this question during the relaunch of #PopChat — a live discussion about marketing and pop culture.
My favorite response came from Kevin Nelson :
“If I like it, I post it.”
I thought this was so refreshing. Posting something just because you like it... no overthinking, no playbook.
That’s how you start connecting with people who actually get you.
You might be wondering, “If I only post what I like, am I ignoring my audience?”
With personal content, it’s all about starting with what feels right to you. When you’re genuinely excited about what you share, the right people will find their way to you.
There’s a community for everything. Even the Cloud Appreciation Society exists, where people bond over their love of clouds ??
Whether it’s clouds or something totally random, there are people out there who will get it — and get you.
So post what you like. Your people are waiting.

headline of the week ??
My entire social media feed is buzzing with updates about the potential U.S. TikTok ban set for January 19th. It’s chaos as we wait to see if someone steps in to save the platform. Rumors are swirling about everyone from Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary to Mr. Beast and even Elon Musk possibly buying it.
Amid the frenzy, I couldn’t help but think about TikTok’s original queen, Charli D’Amelio. What’s her take on all this?!
Charli has 156 MILLION TikTok followers. And anyone who ever judged her for her TikTok dances might want to reconsider...
A lifelong dancer, Charli's videos opened the door to Broadway, landed her a Dancing with the Stars mirrorball trophy, and earned her a spot in pop culture history.
throwback thursday ?
We now know Lady Gaga as one of the biggest pop stars in the world, but before she rose to fame, she was just Stefani Germanotta.
Back in the mid-2000s, some hater created a Facebook group called “Stefani Germanotta You Will Never Be Famous”... HA!
Recently, Gaga addressed it in a TikTok comment, adding context and encouraging everyone to never give up ??????
And as a 2-for-1 Throwback Thursday, did you know "Stefani" was on MTV's show, Boiling Points, in 2005?

1 个月As noted in the post, I like to post quickly and not give myself the time to second guess. One of the coolest occurrences of this occurred a couple years ago when I saw a Twitter story going viral and I realized my client was loosely involved in it. I quickly wrote out a tweetstorm and sent it to the person who ran the... CEO's... Twitter account. Less than 20 minutes after I saw the viral story, the CEO tweeted out my words. This means there were multiple levels of people who thought "Just post it!" and did! Also of note, Inc wrote a story about the tweet. Of course it did not mention me, but, that's because we were operating under a guise of opacity! https://www.inc.com/robbie-abed/in-1-tweet-t-mobiles-ceo-shows-right-way-to-handle-customer-service.html
