Are you overly concerned about your weight and shape?

I absolutely love my mum to bits and miss her loads!!
Although she is often my entire support network rolled into one, she is also my worst critic!
So, when she told me that I look really happy and well in a video with my boys yesterday, I smiled-a lot!
BUT this would not have happened a few years ago when I was really struggling with my body image.
I would have immediately taken it as a sign I've gained weight and it would have completely ruined my day.
I would have become agitated, grumpy, and deprived myself.
I would have lost sight of the fact that time with my children makes me happy and it shows.
This often happens to people who are overly concerned with their shape and weight.
A well meaning comment or a ‘bad’ photo can completely screw up the rest of their day, maybe even week, because this is how they evaluate themselves as a person.
They will constantly feel bad if their weight or shape doesn’t feel ‘right’.
And as there will always be someone slimmer, better looking or fitter than they are, they will feel like a permanent failure.
Most people judge their self worth by how well they perform at work, how rewarding their relationships are etc but those with overwhelming body concerns judge themselves on their weight and their ability to control it.
If this rings any bells for you then you really need to assess just how your body image concerns fit within the rest of your life.
If it is more important than other areas, then you need to address this.
If you want to know how, please get in touch.
I am taking new online clients next month and this will be part of what I will help them tackle.
