Will You Outlive Your Savings?

Will You Outlive Your Savings?

Have you saved enough money to cover the cost of your long-term care?

If you worry that you will outlive your nest egg, you’re not alone.

According to a new survey from American Advisors Group, a “runaway majority” of seniors believe the U.S. is in a retirement savings crisis. The survey of more than 1,500 people aged 60 - 75 shows:

  • 89% believe the country is experiencing a retirement savings crisis
  • 43% rated the condition of their savings as fair or poor
  • 47% say it’s difficult to save for retirement
  • 44% believe they do not have enough savings to retire comfortably
  • 57% say they are only somewhat optimistic or not optimistic at all that their level of savings will last through retirement
  • Almost 40% are worried about making ends meet
  • Nearly 60% say they are cutting back on non-essentials to save money

With numbers like these, it’s easy to see why home care is an increasingly important first stop on the senior care continuum.?

Home care is often an affordable option for seniors who need a little extra help with non-medical day-too-day tasks, including:

  • Companionship
  • Light housekeeping
  • Grocery shopping and meal preparation
  • Medication reminders
  • Transportation
  • Personal care (bathing, toileting, hygiene, etc.)
  • Alzheimer’s/Dementia care
  • Hospice support
  • Transitional care

Opting for home care instead of assisted living can help seniors and their families stretch their long-term care savings - that’s one of the reasons we’re seeing incredible growth in the home care industry.

And that growth is expected to continue.?
