ARE YOU AN ORANGE? By YARA Golden

“I’m such an orange!”
My friend and assistant, Monica, announced that on Facebook when she posted a picture of the makeup colors she loves.
For some people, the makeup colors Monica posted would be pretty out there.
But Monica wasn’t worried about that. She chose them because they’re 100% who she is.
So often people put a ridiculous amount of time and energy into trying to be something they’re not.
We want to be like our favorite celebrity or athlete, or deep down we think we’re not enough, so we find ourselves desperately scrambling to be something we’ve decided is “better” than who we really are.
The problem with that is, you are who and what you are, meaning you have a very specific nature about you.
That means, if you’re a frickin’ orange, you’re a frickin’ orange, and you can’t expect to give anything other than orange juice.
Not lemon juice, not pineapple juice, not apple juice. (Those are great, too!)
You can certainly be a bigger, riper, juicier orange, by changing your habits, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, but your essence? That is what it is.
So instead of driving yourself crazy trying to produce lemon juice or apple juice, why not embrace your orangeness.
It’s who you truly are and always will be, and life is so much happier when you’re living as who you really are, instead of struggling or pretending to be something you’re not, and never will be.
“Okay, Yara, so let’s say I’m ready to embrace my ‘orangeness.’ How the heck do I start?”
I’m so glad you asked, because I’ve got the perfect way for you to get started!
It’s something I’ve not only personally done, I’ve also seen it work for my clients and my friends, and it’s simply this:
Start telling your story.
When you start connecting where you’ve been with where you are now, and all those milestone moments that changed the course of your life… your orangeness can’t help but reveal itself.
It’s a safe, comfortable way to get started telling your story (something that not only helps you embrace who and what you are, it can also do wonders for your business!).
