You only turn 10 three times
I may have mentioned that this year's NECANN convention in March will be our 10th one in Boston about 15 times already but since this is my third try at doing "10", I want to really maximize the experience this time. Some history:
My first try at 10, back in 1976: a little pensive, and unaware of the magnitude of the event. Plus, I don't even really like cake.
My second shot at 10 was the Portland Phoenix's 10th anniversary party in 1999. Perhaps trying to hard to make up for my underwhelming first performance, I flew a little too close to the sun that night. I'm told that is was a great event, and most people have been considerate enough not to bring up my performance too many times over the years (which is crazy, because I'd bring it up regularly if it had been them).
