You Only Have To See The Next 200 feet ahead...

This morning I woke up to a very strange view or really lack thereof. It was pitch black off my balcony at 530am. That never happens. We can always see the street lights on the bridge or the home lights on the island across from our building. My son immediately ran to the balcony opened the slider and yelled, "what is going on?". It was massive fog the kind of fog L.A. sees but we never see in Miami.

I smiled at my son and asked him to hurry and get in the shower I would need a few extra minutes to drive since it would be difficult to see. He hopped into the shower and I stared out the window at the darkness. I smiled. I realized that if this had been a couple of months ago, there would have been a good chance that I would have a panic attack.

Somewhere between October and November last year, I had my hands full. I was overwhelmed with a court case with my son's father and the uncertainty of what was happening with the speaking business for 2022. My long-awaited book launch was derailed because of supply chain issues and it felt like everything I had worked so hard for wasn't materializing. Couple that with two years of virtual school, constant cancellations and changes to my events and still being a rookie entrepreneur I was tapped out. I had hit a wall.

Thankfully, I made the decision to free my mind and space and ask for help. Out of no where so many amazing people started showing up to help me. I had to be willing to receive help and acknowledge I didn't have control. That was a really big deal for me. My entire life I have tried to control things and I really believed that I could.
