Dear Friends:
The coronavirus challenges we face today threatens us in ways we could not imagine a year ago. Many are worried about their health, their family, their careers and more. We are impacted emotionally, financially and spiritually.
I am grateful for all that I have, and I have been looking for ways that I can contribute to others who have been impacted.
A population that is dear to me and does not have much of a voice right now, are those that are fighting cancer. Many patients have been forced to choose between risking exposure to the virus or delaying treatment. That delay means their cancer is given the opportunity to spread. Consequently, patient calls to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) have surged in recent months as patients seek guidance on how to make the best decision. This also coincides at a time where volunteers who raise money to fund LLS’s mission are impacted themselves.
To ensure LLS’ mission thrives in the face of challenges today, I have chosen to participate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2020 Man & Woman of the Year campaign. Our team, CureDevotion, have come together at the request of my good friend James Manicone in honor of his childhood friend Jonathan who lost his battle to cancer January 4th 1987. Our goal is to create a community of individuals that can raise $500,000 by July 30, for this important mission, and offer a bright spot of hope to cancer patients and their families during this unprecedented time.
I am asking you to join me in this campaign by making a meaningful donation that you are comfortable with. Know that whether you donate $50, $100, $500 or $1,000, you will ensure that patients get what they need. Our efforts will also demonstrate powerful support of the many healthcare workers on the front lines as we do our part to create a bright future for us all.
So I humbly ask,
‘ If you only give once a month, please think of me next time ‘
Your contribution can be made (payable to: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society). Please include my name on the memo line of the check. Or, if you prefer, you can go to my personal fundraising page to make your contribution there: https://pages.lls.org/mwoy/li/li20/abehm
Finally, I ask you to reach out to others you know and ask them to do the same. I have found that so many of the people I talk to have a connection to blood cancer and want to support our efforts. Encourage people to support, because only together will we be able to find a cure for blood cancers.
Wishing you a lifetime of health and prosperity!
Your's Sincerly,
