" The thing is," said Doubting Debbie ( aka Debbie Jenkins ) quickly becoming more daring in her matching pants and bra at her weekly meeting with her gang of writers.
" The thing is, is that all of you are super clever, and yet I really do wonder how nimble you all are as this is going to be a key skill to develop for each of you if you want to have the impact which I really know you want to make by going into the media.
In fact, a few of you have confided in me that you are this year wanting to really really go for it in a 'last hurrah,' kind of way' as you have had enough of waiting in the wings, and watching your perceived competitors grab the mic on stages, in the media and secure the contracts and clients that you really desire right?
Several of them nodded apart from Narcissistic Nina, who well was just sat crossed armed with a ' I don't think so, I've already made it years ago vibe.' ( ??)
"So, I want to share with you some tips and proven strategies from my Cheerleading PR team who I chatted with recently, about the importance of being nimble in the media ( and er well in business generally) .
Let me be clear, being nimble is far easier when you know what you stand for, and what your values are, so if these have evolved you need to reflect this in your content and in your work Without clarity on this it is far harder to move with precision and speed!! LOL!
Genuinely, this is where many of us fall on our derrieres myself included when considering going into the media.
Why? Because in order to be nimble in the media, you need to understand how it works, what the rules are and what is required to prepare to go into the media, I genuinely did not know this!! I had to be mentored on this, yes by my Cheerleading PR team.
I admit, it was a bit painful discovering that what is now required has evolved, compared to when I did it quite easily and seriously way back when!! Yes, in the pre-social media days, I am not old I am vintage!!
They all giggled "
She continued in full lecture mode...
"Once you know how the media works, you need to know what is required to prepare to go into it, like photos.
Have you ever taken the time to consider what photos you might need? Or even if you have them for marketing purposes have you considered that you might need slightly different ones for PR?
Thankfully I got schooled in this by my Cheerleading PR team which has helped me rather a lot!
And finally, you need to learn how to articulate both clearly and fast what you want to say and be known for which are two slightly different things, so that the media will be interested in featuring you"
"Thanks quite a lot Debbie ," weighed in Fabulous Felicity. (aka Lucy Hall )

"It really is," shared Random Reena,(aka Susannah Simmons ) who chipped in
" But thankfully I took our Cheerleading(LOL Debbie smiled!) PR Team's course in Mastering the Basics of PR course, last autumn, which helped with all of this. To be frank though, nimble articulation is a bit more advanced something that will be addressed much more deeply in their PR Cohort which I have started with them this month. I know. I am getting better a bit better at it I admit that! LOL! Or so I think!! "
Lots of giggles ensued !
" Honestly though, it has saved me so much time already having done the Mastering the Basics of PR, as I didn't know a lot of what was involved in preparing to go into the media; especially the photos and now I do, I would wholeheartedly recommend their forthcoming course on March 11th." shared Random Reena with love
And with that Debbie ended the meeting, proud with how she had helped her gang and how her gang had helped each other, which had always been her intention!
If you want to start to learn how to become more nimble in the media, then the next Mastering the Basics of PR course starts on March 11th, more details below.
