Have you noticed how this question has slowly moved from being a question about your 'nationality' to becoming a question about your 'personality'. When people ask that question today, it simply means that you are expected to 'act' in a certain way or 'behave' in a certain way.
Who are we deceiving? Most times, we just heap blames on the wrong people and alienate ourselves who are very much part of the problem.
Are you a Nigerian? Now, you are put under pressure to take bribe, tell a lie, loot the treasury or cheat in a certain way. You can choose to keep pointing accusing fingers at the government or you can be truthful to yourself and acknowledge that you too are a huge part of our problem. As Mother Theresa said 'You might not be able to feed the whole nation but at least, you can feed one person'. Start somewhere! Play your part!
Be the change you want to see! You might not he able to restore justice to the nation but you can help a family by refusing that bribe to give away the admission of their only hope of a bright future to another child whose father's pocket is lined with golden coins.
Are you not a Nigerian? Don't let that become a question of personality for you! Remain the great version of yourself and don't let the water get into your boat or else you'll drown just like everyone. Goodmorning!!
