Are You New to the Cleaning Industry & Struggling For Leads?
Here Are Some Lead Generation Tips We Gave Our Breakfast Club Members.
So you’ve bought all the kit, had the training so what next? Having all the gear and no idea is a position I found myself in many years ago and it can be a lonely place. I was keen and eager (Not so young!) but had no marketing experience, so I had to learn the hard way and fast!
When you start out Cash is tight as you’ve spent a lot of money on new equipment, therefore I wanted to gain leads and a volume of work the cheapest way I could. Therefore I started 14 years ago by “Door Knocking” and introducing myself to Letting Agents in the area.
Letting Agents have a large portfolio of properties which they maintain, I thought this would help me in regards to the volume of work I needed to get me kick started. Social Media was fairly new then plus I wasn’t as social media aware, this was hard work but proved to be hugely beneficial. I was lucky and managed to get a “Solid 4” letting agents who supplied a regular flow of work with 1 or 2 more who would provide work now and then. The great thing with letting agents is they have a portfolio of “Landlords” who have numerous properties on their books, in time these Landlords became my direct clients through recommendation. ?
So let’s take that one step further, keep your cash in your pocket and let’s see how we can generate ?leads for a minimal cost or for FREE!
Social Media
Get yourself a page on the following platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Google My Business with regular posts and videos. I recommend 4 posts a day, 2 work related, 1 funny and 1 topical to engage with your clients. If you don’t have a website Facebook is a suitable but temporary substitute.
Free Sites
Get yourself registered on FREE websites, I started with FreeIndex, my village website ?and also sites such as Netmums. Freeindex was a great site which I could post pictures, link to my website where customers could leave a review. This also helped with my Google ranking……this is vital!
领英推荐
Register your business on Google at the earliest opportunity, again this is vital for your Google ranking for your website if you have one. Make regular posts with before and after pictures promoting your work plus video’s. You can also post “Special Offers” or “News” plus gain enquiries from potential customers, make sure you monitor this and respond promptly.
Affiliation
I started my business with carpet cleaning but added other services as I grew, therefore I contacted and affiliated myself with carpet fitters and suppliers. I would leave FREE bottles of “Spotters” for stain removal with local carpet suppliers which they could give to their clients and would recommend them if a carpet was past cleaning and needed replacing. In return they would refer me to clients who needed their carpets cleaning or protecting. Carpet fitters were always getting asked if they could recommend someone to clean their carpets and were only too happy to act as my sales force handing out business cards….. it cost me nothing apart from a pint or two!
So do you know any, UPVC Suppliers or fitters, Landscapers, Block Pavers etc……. simply apply the same principle and create your own FREE Sales Force!
