You are never too old to benefit from exercise
James Davies
I show career-driven parents how prioritise themselves so they can lose weight and improve their health & fitness for better performance at work and home ? Improved Performance with a Health-First Approach
Quick question for you
Do you exercise?
If not, did you know that you, yes YOU, are not too old to start exercising
Whether you are in your 40's, 50's, 60 or 70's it not too late to get significant health benefits from beginning exercise now
I'm talking really significant health benefits
Things like not dying!
I have no experience of dying but the not dying option seems preferable to me.
It's not just me saying it
There have been "studies"
Many "studies" in fact
The authors of one of the studies wrote this:
“for individuals who perform no or little moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, replacing sedentary behavior with light-intensity physical activity reduces the risk of all-cause mortality, cardiovascular disease incidence, and mortality, and the incidence of type 2 diabetesâ€
It wasn't a small study either. They looked at 315,000 people aged 50 to 71 and tracked them for 14 years
It proved that people who started to become physically active between the ages of 40 and 61 had a one-third lower mortality rate.
That means a lower chance of dying!
And more chance of living....which is fun
When we talk about exercise we aren't talking about running marathons or spending hours in the gym striving for big biceps and a six-pack
Remember the quote above?
It says "light-intensity" exercise
The bottom line from these studies is that you, no matter how old you are, can benefit from moving more and sitting less throughout the day
Now I know exercising can be a scary or intimidating thing and many people don't know where to begin
But it doesn't need to be
So, if you need some guidance to start exercising in a sensible and safe maner then we can help
