You never know how much someone means to you

Too many times people don't realize what they have because they are out there looking for something better. The problem is that when they do realize it, they will come crawling back. Everyone falls into the trap that the grass is always greener on the other side. People make mistakes, it’s part of human nature. If you really love this person it may be in both people's best interest to give him or her another chance. Sometimes space makes people appreciate things they once had. You need to make it clear that you forgive one time, and one time only, and if this is what you truly want.

I'd say most people experience this feeling.However, usually, I find, this feeling is just the lack of that person's presence in your life, how they made you feel etc. rather than your actual love for them. Also, like most things, you take them somewhat for granted when they're in your everyday life. Like Twinkies for instance, no one cared until they thought they were gone.

The simple answer to that would be a yes, for the fact that the other person involved got married to someone else. But, I guess love was never meant to be so simple, that is why battles have been fought for the longest of times in pursuit of love. So I am forced to believe that if it was meant to happen between two people no matter what things would have fallen into place. But, there is a famous saying that says “He Fell in Love, She fell in love, But the difference was at different times”. So they say timing is truly everything at times because by the time 2 people are on the same page in the journey of life they are forced to take different paths.

It is a bittersweet truth because the possibility of what could have been…? That is the million dollar question that eats you up and makes you regret but then love like everything in life is a work in progress and even if already in a relationship if the work stops the love fades it might be too late. But, as humans having the courage to be vocal and also experience heartbreak but come out stronger hope for happiness for both the people in it, and letting go of each other is also love and even without actually being together also you love them.

One of the most difficult things to discern in our own hearts is the kind of love that we have for others. Most of us over sexualize love out of desperation for connection and meaning. There are eight kinds of love described by the Greeks, and only one word for love in English. the three main types are Philos or friendship love, Agape or universal love, and Eros or erotic love. These are the three that can help us here.

Having desire sexually is Eros. When that moves to friendship, Philos, then a relationship can grow to include Agape love for the whole person. I can love my friend in Philos and be as close as a sibling and grow Agape. Feeling great love for someone who is not available for one or two of these is still love, it just has different expressions. Often than we have to learn to train our hearts in these new ways to love, in a safe environment before we are very skilled in communicating with others. Cheers!
