You Needed an E-commerce Website Yesterday!

Gone are the days when walk-in clients or customers brought you enough business. Don't get me wrong; dozens of businesses succeed through that, but I believe you are not any other business. This article is for ambitious business owners and brands. The ones who find it hard to sleep at night because they keep on thinking of new ways to expand their business. You'd like the "satisfaction" that work-life balance claims to grant you but your business and(or) brand is your baby and you can't let it die under your watch. We Are Shifting Online, and so should you!

There's no honor in suffering. I can find a million ways of telling you this but let me start with a scenario. Say business owners A and B have businesses selling the same product X. Owner A is old school and loves the old way of selling and doing things. It's been working so far so he's skeptical when Owner B gives him some news about e-commerce. Why would he shift online and his business is doing alright at the moment?

Did you know that once everyone catches on to a money-making trend it probably is too late to make profits from said venture? Take Bitcoin as an example. By the time people were opening their eyes to the value of Bitcoin, it was too late to invest as it was too expensive for most people. That's why being skeptical about e-commerce and going online will not make sense until most people have reaped millions as thousands have already have.

Owner A told Owner B to respect his business acumen and to be honest I would've respected Owner A too. In a world where everyone makes their purchases online and Owner A still makes a profit means that he has a business model that works. If you're anything like Owner A, I want to give you respect for that and tell you that you're still leaving huge profits on the table. You could make much more that you don't have to work another day in your life.


There has been a huge change in customer behavior...

The shift in customer consciousness and behavior has been enormous! People no longer fancy struggling through stores looking for the perfect outfit. That's time-consuming and useless if they can find the same quality in the quantity they'd like in the comfort of their homes. This huge shift was facilitated by the rise of e-commerce websites.

I think I said it above but let me repeat it here, there's no honor in suffering when the alternative can be acquired. Why go to the supermarket to do your shopping when the same supermarket you fancy offers the same products to you at a small shipping fee? I honestly believe that you can't put a price on convenience and that's why every business needs an e-commerce website as soon as yesterday.

Some may think that this is all about making money but it's not. This is about ensuring your business survives the inevitable digital economy lurking. This big shift requires customization!

When the barriers to entry are low, know that the product or opportunity will be generic or too popular. If you can afford to take a pre-built template and use it for your website, so can millions of other traders. Once you decide to go down the path everyone has been treading on, it becomes very difficult to stand out.

You are an exemplary business owner and as such I intend to hold you in that esteem. Using generic templates for your website is like showing up to a big event with a loosely fitting suit. You'll be seen struggling to fit in and the embarrassment is inevitable unless you have the zen level of detachment. Otherwise, you'd rather just show up with the right suit.

Buying a ready-made suit is cool, but the real gem is getting your own tailor to adjust measurements for every part of you. I want to be that tailor for your e-commerce website. The Time to Act Is Now

Most people get offices and stores in the busiest corners of town. They know that this will give them access to more eyes and subsequently more clients. But even stores in the busiest corners of town are limited. How many people can see your store per unit of time? 1000 people per day? If you work out the conversion Mathematics you end up with 50 clients tops and depending on your product that number drops dramatically.

Now, how about having a website? Unlike the physical store where you bring in a pool of people and hope to get your ideal client, with a well-optimized website you access only the right kinds of clients. Imagine bringing your website in front of the eyes of 1000 potential clients and doing that consistently and forever. That's the power a customized e-commerce website affords you and your business.
