You Need to Present at CreatorCon
TL;DR
Every year in May,?ServiceNow?throws the event of the year: Knowledge. It's hard to describe the scale and impact. Seriously, the WHOLE reason I'm sitting here writing this to you is because of Knowledge 17 where I gave my first presentation ever! I started my Twitter as a way to connect with other people at the conference and the rest is history. That's not to mention the parties, free food and of course learning!
"But Mark", I hear you say, "I've only been working with ServiceNow for xx months/years, I don't have anything to say".
False! As a "fresher" you have an AMAZING perspective. You've just come through the gauntlet and probably picked up some helpful things along the way. How you learned something, what you used to learn it, things you may have built yourself to help learn - these are all INVALUABLE! And it's not just other people that want to learn this stuff. Companies want to get their employees up to speed quickly. They want to know what you went through and how you made it easier on yourself?so they can make it easier on their employees!

Here's the other thing - if you're presenting, you get a free ticket to the conference. That's usually around $1,200 USD. It's?so?much easier to convince your employer to fork over the dough for a plane ride and hotel if you've taken care of the admission price! It's also a great way for you to establish yourself and your company as experts. You get to talk about your position and your company during your talk, it's like free publicity. At least, that's what I write in the email explaining that I want to go. This isn't a promise that your ticket price is included if you're speaking by the way, this is just how it's been done in the past.
"Ok so, what do I need to do?"
Well, you need an idea, title and an abstract. Ideally, an eye catching title and a paragraph to draw people in. It's a summary about what you're speaking on and more importantly, why people should care. I've got a quick video on three tips to writing a great submission:
Finally, it's the bad news. Submissions are only open until Nov 15th, so you REALLY need to hurry it up and get them in. Don't forget to leverage the office hours and if you need any additional info,?check out this blog post on the Developer site!
