You Need To Leverage Video On Social
Place yourself in the shoes of a consumer being introduced to a new product, brand or service. You are scrolling through your Facebook feed and you see a video that was able to capture your attention within five seconds. It’s a product you have been searching for and you resonate with the company because they shared their story with you and you feel a deep connection with them. You then become a loyal paying customer, you then shared the video on your feed and then 10 of your friend’s shared it too and half of them also became loyal paying customers. Within seconds this company captured your attention, turned it into profit and will rinse and repeat with many more people just like you. This is the power of using video in your marketing campaigns.
Today, we have extremely short attention spans and the number of people that are beginning to prefer video ads is only increasing. The Online Publishers Association reports that upwards of 80% of people who viewed video ads still recall viewing that video after 30 days time. Think about the simple impact a video can have on someone. I can tell you I still recall watching movies in theaters from when I was 10 years old. How many movies do you still remember watching 10+ years ago? You still remember them because the director catered that film to leave an impression on you. Like I have said before in past articles, it is not the things that we do not know that hurts us, it is the things that we know that we don’t apply that do. In this case, we all like watching mesmerizing videos. We all prefer to learn about a brand in the quickest way up front, and then research after. Marketing is a simple game, that most people make way too complex. With video, you can turn attention into revenue by simply capturing your brand story and showcasing it to the world. Keep in mind, social proof plays a MASSIVE role in our decision-making processes today as well.
The point of video is to make it EASY for your customer to learn about what you do that can help them solve their own issues. The old ways of marketing are dying, magazine ads, text ads on social, newspaper clippings, emails and everything related is becoming more irrelevant. Video on social is the best way to capture a customer and stay relevant in their minds day in and day out, due to it opening up visual, auditory and emotional senses for whoever is viewing.

I talk to loads of business owners that “try” certain aspects of the above formula and thing’s do not pan out as they wanted.
