Are you missing out on a massive opportunity?
Are you leaving a quarter of the internt asleep to your business?

Are you missing out on a massive opportunity?

As a blogger and business man this blog heading always strikes at the very heart of anyone who has an internet presence for their business. The heading is very ambiguous and could cover so many eventualities, so from a content marketing point of view the heading creates curiosity and has a better chance of being opened and read through to the call to action and clicked, than other types of headings.

One thing I make very clear on my Digital Marketing workshops is make sure you deliver what you promise from your headings, don’t be a tabloid or trash journalist who over time have decimated the power of headings by twisting things so badly the truth blurs into sensationalism. You’re not a journalist, you are in business to sell something, therefore make sure your blogs have good information and tips that brands you as a leader in your business genre.

It’s vital to have a climax and conclusion which is a call to action click button for an appointment for either consultative sales or purchase for product based business.

The opportunity I am suggesting that you are missing out on is:

Your business being seen and heard by over a quarter of the internet population, as in the Chinese market.

As Westerners we are often guilty of being so busy operating in our ‘small pond’ to use the business vernacular, when there is a massive blue ocean of business all too many of us are not seeing, or we do see, but we assume we cannot reach the Chinese market, because of language obstacles and internet firewalls and other issues we use to try talk ourselves out of trying something new.

On the surface, many factors do make reaching out to the Chinese market of 1.3 billion people (more than the USA and Europe combined) who use the internet to the maximum and do many things differently, problematic, but it does not have to be.

First of all; learning about the cultural differences between how Chinese people use the internet seems an uphill battle, but surely basic knowledge of all aspects of your business is the per-requisite of any business leader?

For example; you don’t need to know exactly the types of fibers used on the office cleaners brush they use to clean the floor, but as the boss, knowing the basics of their role, that their job is important, that they are happy, they get the respect they deserve, and have what they need to do their job properly is all part of a good leader’s remit.

If you have a business online you should invest in some seminars for you and your team and read up on what the Chinese market means to your business, self-investment and team training is often a kingpin in your business plan that leading entrepreneurs love to see, if you can demonstrate that you are well aware that constant self-learning is pivotal to your personal growth and that of your business.

Once you develop your understanding of how important this economy is to your business you will begin to see how so many businesses are going to struggle by not immersing themselves into the Chinese online market at least to some extent.

The Chinese Content Marketing Strategy

The Chinese value other people’s opinions more so they we do now in the West. It changed a lot for Westerners as we became more insular in our lives, most of us Baby boomers and Gen X will remember our parents catching up on social issues over the garden fence with neighbours, this seems to have gone and we rely more on media and advertising to influence our buying habits.

The Chinese rely on Key Opinion Leaders who are bloggers that hold a lot of sway with huge online communities and can quite easily make or break even huge company’s marketing campaigns for products and services.

You need to learn how to get your opinions heard in China via content marketing and knowing who to go to, to help you get your business seen and heard in China.

The Younger Mobile Correlation

We see a correlation between fast emerging economies and aging of populations, India and China have emerged as global leading economies of late and have a lot of young people as opposed to some countries in Europe who are struggling so badly with birth rates they are offering big incentives for young families to have children, not a good omen for longevity of business let alone the population of those countries.

You may have a fantastic product or service which could be the solution to a massive pain but if there is fewer and fewer customers every year to sell it to, where is the longevity in that?

When you look at statistics, Chinese people spend more time online looking at more pages on websites than their Western counterparts and they do the majority of it on mobile devices. The Chinese digital landscape is responsive, it is a given for their market, you don’t need to ask for it from web designers, it is expected!

Because the internet really came to China in 1994, this media has a strong hold on the younger population, even in the rural areas over 80% of the population who are online are under 30 years old, basically the future of China is online!

So; are you going to continue in your Western bubble and rely on Western English-speaking markets?

Or are you going to wake up to the fact the world is a different and fast-moving sphere and realise what got you here will very probably not get you there, and speak to Netmedia -Edge about how to get your business presence in China today!
