You might "think" but what do you "know"?
How many times have you sat in a meeting where someone putting forward a case say “I think…”. Do they offer any evidence to support that thought?
Thinking is an important skill but having the knowledge of how accurate a case is is essential both to win an argument and to make positive progress and change.
Knowing isn’t about being morally right or wrong. It definitely is not about making bold yet unevidenced statements.
Knowing is about using evidence to reach a conclusion.
To know is what research is all about: finding the information that shows whether something works, how it fails, the changes that might be made and the proof of whether they succeed.
To know you need evidence.
Having the skills to collect that evidence - research - as efficiently, effectively and accurately as possible is critical for all organisations.
So if you want your thinking to become knowing, ask yourself if you have the skills and confidence to start today. If not, get in touch and together we can find the right starting point for you to develop the key skills to support your arguments and make decisions much more effective.
