You may be falling into the “it's ok” trap

You may be falling into the “it's ok” trap

?? Warning: You may be falling into the “it’s ok” trap?

The last six months have been a hell of a ride?

Business and personal wise?

Lots of wins and lots of learning lessons?

At some point, I grew tired and I started being indulgent with myself.?

And I mean too indulgent?

I started taking more time off, “it’s OK Carlos, you just need to take it easy” - I thought

And yes, it’s totally OK to indulge yourself and keep a healthy work-life balance.

The keyword here is “healthy

The "it’s ok to take some more time off", quickly turned into "it’s ok to eat pizza today, you deserve it"

"It’s ok to skip a day at the gym, you’ve been working out hard!"

"It’s ok to sleep in today, don’t beat yourself up for it"

The list goes on and on…?

?

Before you realize it, all these “it’s OKs” have stolen your identity?

And that's because "the way you do one thing, is how you do everything"

And what you do daily, determines what you become permanently…?

?

This is what usually happens:

?You achieved some level of success because of your hard work.?

You have been consistent and diligent, putting in all this time and effort.

You have also been greatly rewarded for all of it, BUT…

Then at some point, maintaining this level of success and “rewards” starts becoming unsustainable?

It all seems to come at the expense of your family time, your health, your happiness…

And then the “it’s Ok” come into place…

The fit, happy, and determined YOU starts falling back into the old habits…?

?This is an old version of yourself you happily got rid of in exchange for these “rewards”

But now, as the rewards stop being as abundant as before, you start settling for less than what you deserve…

You don't feel that you are getting rewarded greatly for your hard work...?

All these “It’s OK” are starting to become "the new old habits"… And as you do, you become…?

You start being OK with this downgraded version of yourself…?

This identity shift can have disastrous consequences if you don't snap out of it.

For me, the last six months have been an “interesting journey” to say the least.??

I did fall trap of the “It’s OK” indulgence and my business took a hit…

On the other hand though, this extra energy unused in business was devoted to an area of my life that I had “given up” long ago.

LOVE

As a result, I have found the woman of my life and got married, living now the love story I always dreamt about…?

The problem is that if you give up an area of your life to succeed in another, you generate a misalignment that sooner or later will come back to haunt you.

It’s like a bouncing boxing bag, at some point will come back so hard it will knock you down.

Luckily, in life there's no failures you learn the lesson and make the most out of it.

Mistakes are juicy sources of expensive knowledge you can't find anywhere else.

?

The lessons...

When things get hard, the solution is never about to “step back” but to find better ways to keep moving forward.??

It’s OK to indulge yourself as a part of the journey ahead, but never as a way to escape a reality that sooner or later will get you.?

When the "old doings" are not getting you further away, it’s most likely because you need to seek success at a different level.?

The success that comes from within.

The answers will come when you ask questions like:

“Who do I need to BECOME?” instead of “What do I need to DO?”?

The past six months have taught me how to leverage my time in business so I can invest it back into my family and own wellbeing.

They have taught me that you are not alone on the road to success, that the mistakes we make, do not belong to us. That we can do more to work better and smarter.

That we are in the neverending journey to learning and growing. That we can do more to help others avoid our own mistakes.

Not so they don't make any, but so they can make new ones and propel their success even further and faster than our own.

?I have learned that is my mission and how well it aligns with mind and heart what makes a difference.

I have learned that is the systems and habits we can control, what makes a difference in how fast you drive into the high-way to success.

And remember, the only way to FAIL is to quit.
