Are you manifesting wrong? (I was!)

If you've followed this newsletter or my story at all, you may recall me writing about the dark place I was in at the beginning of the pandemic. After leaving a stable teaching position at a local college, I had taken a huge risk and opened my own brick and mortar business. Just 6 months in, I closed the doors to my fledgling business as Covid shut the world down.
In an attempt to fill an empty space within myself, I started learning about business and making money online. I expected to learn about sales funnels, marketing, building a website, writing copy etc, but what I didn't expect was the intertwining of business principles and spirituality.
So many thought leaders in the digital space wrote about meditation, thought reframing, intentional creation, and manifestation.
I had never heard of the process of manifestation. Many "gurus" provided a very simplified definition of manifestation as the ability to create your reality from your thoughts.
Wow! It sounded incredible - so I decided to give it a try.
At first I didn't truly understand what manifestation was. It seemed way too simple to just "think something into existence".
Like many who come across this process, I was quickly disappointed when the things that I thought about didn't magically appear in front of me.
I was writing affirmations, following guided meditations, thinking happy thoughts - I was doing "all the things". Why was nothing happening???!!!
It turns out, there's a lot more to effective manifestation than just thinking about what you want and writing "I am abundant" in your journal.
To save you time and prevent the frustration that I experienced - I've broken down how I effectively manifest into 5 steps:
Step 1: Clarity - Get clear on what you want

Step 2: Set the intention & experience the emotion
Step 3: Be Realistic (As you become a master manifestor, you can manifest incredible things - but at the beginning start small. You need to believe that manifesting is possible.) Be realistic about the challenges you will face and the barriers you will overcome to reach your goal.
Step 4: Release Resistance - Let go of all the blocks and negative stories that block your manifestations from becoming reality
Step 5: Do the Work - This is the part so many people skip! You have to actually take intentional action if you want to see any real outcomes. Thoughts are powerful, but they are only part of the equation.
