You lucky b*st*rd

You lucky b*st*rd

A large portion of the success I have enjoyed has been down to luck. Much of the misfortune too.

I'm not talking about lottery winning luck, I'm talking about the right/wrong place at the right/wrong time type of luck.

Accepting the huge role luck plays in life means I have learned lessons others haven't. Those lessons represent the experience I bring to bear for the benefit of others. Everyone has experience but not everyone learns from it.

Every outcome contains luck; luck is wide ranging. I can’t hope to influence all the factors that produce an outcome, luck must have played part. A metaphorical coin is always flipped.

If I didn’t acknowledge the depth and breadth of luck that has rained down on me over the years, I might believe I have God given talent.

For many everything that turns out well is entirely down to them, and everything bad entirely down to bad luck and nothing to do with them. They don’t believe in the full extent of luck.

In the world of money these people believe themselves to be property / crypto / stock market geniuses, when things go well…nothing to do with luck at all.

But the truth is we are all lucky b*st*rds.

Fully agree! Even if luck wasn’t real, believing that one is lucky will be beneficial, as beliefs have consequences. I really like the perspective, and is very relatable. I’m grateful for everything that happened, as sometimes being unlucky is what we need as protection. We don’t always know what is truly good for us, as some dots can only be connected looking retrospectively.

Luck is an interesting one, you can try to minimise it as much as you can but it's something you can't ignore.

Jeremy I think you’re highlighting a career-long adage I entirely agree with… but right/place right time aside, you largely create your own luck…
