You look like you could use a hug?
Top of the weekend my friends! You look like you could use a hug! Did you notice on every election year we get hug deprived?
Here's why I broach this subject with a splash of serendipity! For you see I am a hugger!!? There I said it!! In times like these we need more times like these!! After all close fellowship is needed when life's challenges dampen your spirit. And by the way, my hugs are a gift from GOD!? How about you?
What other body to body connection, regardless of the situation, always seem to make you feel much better?
I also enjoy watching those TV news stories. Where the soldier comes home to their family. Hugs everywhere! What a feeling!
Certainly if your Haphephobia, people who have a fear of being touched by strangers. This bear hug thing ain’t for you! However surveys find around 8 out of 10 Americans need it. According to Carnegie Mellon University’s Laboratory for the Study of Stress, Immunity and Disease suggest you should hug your kids daily!? I'll second that emotion!!
Remember the months during the coronavirus? We were hug deprived!!? Maybe you need to develop a hug bank account? It was one of the unspoken casualties of that whole covid moment at that time. Back then you really looked like you could use a hug. Remember?

Now back to me. I’m the kind of guy who believes a hug a day will keep the doctor away. At a minimum, 3 or 4 a day should do the trick!. Don't look now this could go virtual!!! Wait a minute, the goal is to touch good people. Right? Okay, if that’s not an option, patience is a virtue and good things come to those that wait!
Did you know there are 20 different types of hugs? I know I didn’t.
While reading the material on the benefits of “Hugs”. There are a vast cornucopia of styles! There’s the bear hug, polite hug, one way hug, buddy hug, back hug, intimate and flirty hugs just to name a few.
The flirty one, I call the Costco hug.? You know, when you’re in Costco, they almost always have “samples” for you to try. Right?Well when you find a good one, you “buy it and bring it home”.? As Beyonce put it “you wanna put a ring on it”! Sorry I had a moment!
Anyway, according to Psychology Today, hugs produce Oxytocin and Cortisol for us non-medical folks that means it reduces your stress and fear intake along with making you happier! They suggests you need 8 to 12 hugs a day!
I'll close with this wonderful heavenly hug from Isaiah 41:10.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”! You look like you could use a hug!! Donut ever forget it!
