Are you “logic over emotions” in strategy?

Let’s rethink that!


If you could describe a great leader in three words, what words would you use? ??♂???

Emotional might not be the first thing that pops into your mind, right?

In fact, typically associating emotions and leadership is something that's frowned upon!

But what if being “emotional” was the missing ingredient to incredible leadership of both yourself and others? ??

I have been working with this client recently. She’s very practically minded and she was shutting down emotions in her leadership style, so logic and strategy could prevail. ????

As she was struggling with retention and low productivity rates, I challenged her to shift her approach and experiment with including a little more emotion in her approach. ??

She was hesitant, but she really wanted to turn things around, so she gave it a go…

The breakthrough happened! ??

Once she slowed down and tuned into what she was feeling, she realized she needed to take a different approach that would actually prove more impactful. She explored and connected to what her team was feeling, and suddenly the engagement and productivity went up! ????

This shift was so effective that she wanted to kick herself for waiting so long. ????

So, is connecting to your emotions and that of your team actually our secret weapon for success? ?????

And hey - you don’t have to wait until nothing else has worked before you use it; using emotional intelligence to communicate with your team has become an asset to lead impactfully. ??

How? ??

It helps to better evaluate a challenge or conflict within your team, empathize with employees to create trust and gain skills to better trust your intuition. ??????

After all, emotions are a key part of being human.

And if you know how to stay emotionally centered and positively connected with those around you, it’s pretty amazing what can happen.

I know it can be tough to see emotions as an asset and as a Leadership Coach, I see many clients resisting it, but trust me - when they do embrace it, it becomes a total game-changer. ????
