Are You Living Your Life Like Groundhog Day?

Are You Living Your Life Like Groundhog Day?

Do you find yourself going through each day doing the same thing??We get up at the same time, we check our phone, we listen to the traffic report, grab a shower, perhaps wear the same uniform or dress cloths to work day after day.?We take the same route to work, sometimes wondering how we got to a certain point in the route?wondering how you got there, not noticing anything along the way.?We sit at the same desk or cubicle, doing the same work day in and day out. We may even eat the same lunch day in and day out.

You may even feel stuck, bored, unmotivated, unfulfilled and even hard to get along with.?You wonder to yourself- is this all there is in life? ?You feel stuck in the same everyday routine, and you feel like life is passing you by!??

Did you know that Groundhog Day Syndrome is a real thing???Ronald Riggio published a study in “Psychology Today,” indicating that Groundhog Day Syndrome is a trye psychological phenomenon that makes you feel like you’re living the same day over and over again- just like the Bill Murray movie- Groundhog Day. ?

I know lots of people are feeling this these days.?They want to do something different, even work differently.?They want to live differently and break up the routine.?As the proverb goes variety is the spice of life!?New and exciting experiences make life more interesting.

If you feel like life is passing you by, it’s time to switch things up in life!?Here are some helpful ideas to get you out of your rut!?

1.??????Drive to work a different route or take the back roads route home.

2.?????Change up your coffee for tea or change up the flavor of your creamer.

3.?????Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

4.?????Encourage your workplace to have a casual or business casual day.

5.?????Join a new group on social media or in your community.

6.?????Get creative and pick up a craft or hobby.

7.?????Take a digital break from social media.

8.?????Get out in nature for a hike.

9.?????Make a fun jar filled with slips of paper of fun things to do each weekend.

10.??Get out and exercise.

11.??Read instead of watch TV.?

12.??Do a puzzle instead of scrolling through your phone. ??

13.??Schedule down time in your day.

14.??Manage your worry by living in the present.?

15.??Call a friend for an impromptu lunch date or dinner.

In a world where we are told to keep a routine and schedule every second of our day, it can be easy to get stuck in the groundhog day syndrome.?So be sure to switch up your routine from time to time and schedule in some fun along the way!

What suggestions would you add to this list???
