3 ways to shake things up!
Do you ever feel like your days are just blurring into one?
You wake up, power through your to-do list, and collapse into bed, only to start all over again the next day.?
You're ticking boxes and staying busy, but does it feel like you're just laying bricks without knowing what you're building for your life?
If this strikes a chord, you're definitely not alone!
Many of us are caught in this cycle, living on autopilot, completing tasks without considering their true significance. And let's not even talk about the Netflix bingeing or the endless scrolling on your phone in front of the telly - or is that just me? ??
It doesn't have to be this way.
You can shift from merely surviving to intentionally building a thriving life - one that truly inspires you!
Recently, I've shared that my word for the year is?BOLD, which for me, is all about living aligned with my core values and making choices that reflect what truly matters.
Today, I'm sharing 3?? ways I'm actively doing this in 2025 … because I'm all about practising what I teach!?
Here's how to shake things up ?
1. Identify your autopilot triggers ??
Ever reached the end of the day wondering, “where did the time go?”?
That's autopilot at work. It sneaks up when you're busy but disconnected, moving through your day without being fully present. Recognising this can help you break free and make room for more meaningful choices.??
? Getting clear on your?values?is crucial here. Write them down - if they're not front and centre of how you build and live your life, it's unlikely they'll inspire you to take action.
?
2. Clarify what really matters ??
It's so easy to get caught up in the urgent - emails, deadlines, other people's priorities - that we lose sight of what's truly important.
I recently listened to a talk where they discussed what people value most at the end of their lives:?spoiler, its loved ones and the legacy they leave.
The least important? Work and money/status.?
So, why then are the majority of our days consumed with these? ?
Sure, you may have work to earn a living, but when you consider that we spend a huge part of our waking hours working - is this work aligned to you? And while I'm not recommending you quit your job - there are things you can do to pivot in the meantime towards the goal of shifting your work. (This is what I did 2 years before quitting corporate when I started my first biz - which has led on to where I am today - 13 years self employed).
??Take a moment to reflect: What are the five most important things in your life? And ask yourself - are my daily actions truly aligned to these?
?
3. Practice mindful decision-making ??
Saying yes to everything can leave you overwhelmed, drained, and resentful. I've adopted a new mantra for 2025:?"If it's not a HECK yes, it's a HECK no."?
This approach has already led me to turn down a couple of invitations that felt more like obligations than desires.?
While many fear missing out, in 2025 I am embracing the joy of missing out (JOMO).??
It's also not about saying “sorry” or justifying your decision, but about being clear with my boundaries with myself! If I choose to spend that time chilling at home, doing chores, or hanging out with my family instead, that's me aligning with my values.?When we say “yes” to things (like attending an event you really don't want to go to) - that essentially means we're saying “no” to something else (like self care or spending quality time with our loved ones). ?
??Look at your schedule, what are you saying “yes” to out of obligation and to people please those that truly won't even factor at the end of your life? This may sound harsh, but it works!
Feeling overwhelmed by the idea of reshaping your life??
Take it one step at a time.?
Also, seek the support and accountability you may need to shake things up.
And if you're curious about more ways to break free from autopilot and design a life you don't need a holiday from, drop me a DM?and we can chat more about how I might best support you with your life, health or biz goals this 2025.
I believe the best gift you can give your family and the world, is a healthy and thriving YOU!
