“If you live long enough, you see the same eyes in different peopleâ€
Quote from Star Wars: The Force Awakens
In Business, there is a paradigm that marketing and sales are different when it comes to the different type of business.
Hi-tech, low-tech, traditional white color professions Vs. new media and technologies.
Obviously, there is some truth the matter as the information and skill set needed in each occupation has to do with the level of professionality and excellence.
However, the basis remains the same:
Marketing - like the old world marketplaces has to do with attracting audiences, transmitting a clear message which will catch the ear of the potential customers and resonate the hardest amongst the tens of thousands of messages on is exposed to in a day
Sales – from the Latin word "Sela" (learned it years ago in a sales course by Uzi Meron), which means to give. The Hebrew word for sales comes from the root "know". Which means, eventually, a deal will be made, one the parties know each other, and the buying party acknowledges the fact it is receiving a great deal of value.
Hesitations and objections – i.e. expensive, maybe, I shall think about it
Always stems from fear, distrust
In new purchases, the buyer never truly knows he shall get a good product/ service. There are no assurances.
The well-known KLT (know like trust) model, exists for that reason in exactly and is common for all types of sales.
My message to you:
There are no shortcuts, there is no magic pill.
When It comes down to it keep it simple. Finetune your marketing messages, never take the foot off the marketing paddle, it is essential for the "know" and "trust" part.
When the message is clear and repeated continuously, the customer will eventually take the interest.
Making the message clear is also a matter of trial and error, use professionals to write your MARCOM material, give it a go.
If you receive leads, good, if not change.
The true art is to know when to change.
But those who are determined, plan their path and monitor their progress will get results
Those who zigzags will get tired and get nowhere.
Hence, no matter what your business is, remember that ".com"
Stands for commerce and that has not changed that much in years.
