Are You Listening?

Are You Listening?

I've had a backlog of books I'm currently reading on my desk for a while now. I finished two of them in the past week : )

I didn't realize I was halfway through the last chapter of 10X is Easier Than 2X but I stopped to read another book with my Mastermind group. I laughed when I read the title of the final chapter - 'Conclusion' lol

I also got through The Power of Awarness shortly before that. It's technically two books in one but they're both short. I have LOVED everything I've read by Neville Goddard btw!

I'm on to the last book that's open on my desk. I started Think and Grow Rich pretty early on in the year. I stopped because Guinevere Ellis had recommended so many good books and I simply couldn't help myself.

So when I picked it back up tonight, I found myself at the beginning of chapter 4: Autosuggestion.

Perfect!

Autosuggestion

I've been spending a lot of time working on mine so I was excited to read. Napaleon Hill confirms a lot of things I've read from others and learned throughout this year. But one thing in particular stood out to me.

In fact, it was something rather simple. He lays out the steps to practice autosuggestion and as a final thought says "and repeat aloud (so you may hear your own words)." This was the only thing in the paragraph that I highlighted. I had heard all the rest before. And in truth, I already knew it was an important part of the process, but it really stood out to me this time - more than ever before.

I practice autosuggestion in two ways:

  1. I have a written mantra that I read
  2. I have a recording I listen to, once in each ear

I practice both in the morning, at night, and several times throughout the day. I do so with faith and emotion.

But when I read this, I had to stop and think. Do I read my mantra outloud or in my head?

When I listen to my recording, I obviously hear myself talking, but the mantra is specifically focused on changing my relationship with money and abundance.

It's probably both, I know for a fact that I read it out loud because sometimes I'll do it in a voice to keep things fresh (and I like to practice my voices for DnD : )

But do I do so everytime?

I don't think so. So tonight that changes. I left myself a note on my board - "out loud!" so I don't forget. Every time you read through this stuff you learn something new. However small. It's not the same river and I'm not the same man...
