You Lil Rascal of a Business!

I can't tell you how many times I've been told, "Oh, your name is like Darla in the Little Rascals show." Therefore, I'm going to compare being an entrepreneur to being Alfalfa because I enjoyed watching it when I was growing up. 

Alfalfa had a true love. Her name was Darla. As an entrepreneur, you also have a true love. It's name is probably reflected in your business name. You definitely love her. 

Alfalfa spent many hours planning his candlelight rendezvous in the clubhouse to woo Darla. You spend many hours wooing your clients trying to get them interested in your product or idea. You may spend time wooing investors to review your business. 

Alfalfa hit road blocks along the way. His romantic picnic goes up in flames, he got a frog in his pants at the ballet and he tries to sing with soap bubbles burping out of his mouth. Entrepreneurs hit road blocks along the way. Your strategy may go up in flames because of an unknown circumstance, you may have a new competitor, or other problems may arise. 

Alfalfa doesn't give up on his true love. He is resilient in his efforts. Likewise, you don't give up on your true love. 

Alfalfa's competition tries to bring him down through bold moves to win the girl and the race, but he doesn't give up. He gets more determined than ever. You will likely have competition no matter how well you protect your idea.  

Alfalfa wins the heart of the girl. If you fight until the bitter end, you can also win the race.

My take away to you is this. Keep your eye on the prize. Don't be afraid to take risks. Keep the frogs out of your pants and stay focused. Fix your hair and smell good. Really...I'm not kidding.
