Are You Like Superman Part 3

Being Clark, when you’ve been taught to be Superman, can be hard. It’s like taking everything you’ve ever been taught since childhood and pushing it aside to embrace something new…and challenging. I get how that can be scary and intimidating. I also believe in you and know you can do it.
Clark had to give himself permission to empower himself to step into his power, to be all he could be, and to be the man he was destined to be. It’s time to give yourself permission to step into your power as Clark, because it’s so much more powerful to just be YOU…and not some figment of an imagination living up to others’ expectations of who you are or who they want you to be.
Part of being you is letting yourself know that you’re not invincible (even Superman had Kryptonite), that you need help (Superman got help from Batman and Wonder Woman when he needed it), and being real about your fears.
Take just a moment and think about your biggest fear. Is it fear of failure, rejection, not being liked, others being disappointed in you, letting people down, not living up to expectations, not succeeding more, not being a leader, not leaving a legacy, being alone, not being loved, or something else?
Pinpointing your fears, takes the power out of the fear, and you’re able to conquer it much faster. SHARE THIS!
When you have identified your fear, say it out loud, “I’m afraid of _____.”
Then find a safe place or person and share that fear there. I know, I know. That sounds like the scariest thing. What will the person think of me? What will he/she do or say?
You’ve already acknowledged your fear, so don’t allow what someone else may or may not think, do, or say to affect your ability to walk through your fear. When you walk through it, you will have come out the dark place and into the light…into the greatness waiting for you.
This is the final step, sharing your fear with someone else, and I know you will achieve it. After all, you’ve come this far, you’re not going to let anyone stop you from accomplishing your goal.
You may be asking, “Why do I need to share it with someone else? Isn’t it good enough to say it out loud?”
That’s like Superman saying, “I just flew in the air, do I really need to get rid of the bad guys?”
You’ve done part of it, but you haven’t done it all. You haven’t done the hardest part. That way when fears come up again (and they will), you’ll know how to powerfully walk through them and not allow them to have control over you.
The next step is…Share with someone else, someone who is a safe place, your specific fear.Don’t be attached to his/her reaction. Whatever the response is be okay with. This is about you sharing the fear not about the reaction you do or don’t receive.
You might be thinking, I don’t have a space place where I can share my fears. Please feel free to email me at [email protected]. I’d be honored for you to share it with me.
BOOOYAAHH!! You did it again! You accomplished the last step with fears. I’m sooo happy for you. Pat yourself on the back (I’m giving you a hug—hey, we all need hugs), and get in your stance and say, “BOOOYYAAAHH!!”
See, I knew you sooo had this.
I’d love to hear from you. In the comments below share with me how you felt by sharing your fear with someone else. No judgment there, because we’re all in this together.
