You Will Not Know the Hour of His Coming

Mark 13:32 “But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.

Matthew 24:21,22 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

The above Scriptures should create a sense of urgency for all people. They are the very words of God delivered to us and while they serve as a warning they also come to us out of the deepest love there ever could be. He desires all to be saved but He also knows from the beginning of time not all will be. Even though the words of 2 Timothy 3:1-5 were penned some 2000 years ago just look how true they are today! There are those who will say these issues have always existed, but as the scriptures warn us they will come with even greater vengeance and to an extent never before witnessed in the history of mankind.

There will be no escaping His judgment. Many today either believe there is no god or that god loves us all so we will all get a free pass to eternal bliss. But our God is a jealous God that demands perfection and our utmost respect. A bar set so high no one can ever achieve this in the fallen world in which we now live. Exodus 20:4-5 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,

This means nothing of this world can ever be worth more to us than our love for Him. How do you measure up? This is why Jesus came. God in His Son came to us in our own physical form so that we may know that the Father in Heaven is real, that He is there for us and loves us so very much. Enough to take on a sinful human form and yet through the all powerful God was able to defeat sin as an example to us all. To become the ultimate sacrifice once and for all that those who give their heart & soul to Him shall have the promise of eternal life.

But in the words of Matthew 6:33 God tells us there are an abundance of blessings for those who seek Him in the here and now. Don't miss out on those wonderful gifts that will bring meaning & purpose to your life not to mention the fact that if you do not know the instant Jesus will return an eternity in hell is not worth the gamble, no matter how lucky you think you are!

Help yourself draw closer to Jesus by strengthening your faith. There are many ways that you can do this. It certainly starts by attending a strong Bible believing church on a frequent basis. But it also takes getting involved at your church. Interact with other Christians. Be a part of helping others in the body of Christ, both physically as well as spiritually. Attending Bible studies, whether in home or at the church, really add to your understanding of God's word and how it applies to your everyday walk with Him.

In addition I would highly recommend starting P.A.C.K. Outreach at your church and in your community. This stands for Planned Acts of Christian Kindness. What better way to grow your faith then to go out to busy public places in your own community and unselfishly do acts of kindness to everyone the Holy Spirit leads to you. Providing a free simple & practical gift or doing a helpful service for someone you may not even know creates the perfect time to give God all the glory. A few words, a smile and a "Connect Card" does exactly that. It is now the Lord reaching out to these recipients of your kindness letting them know He loves them so very much. Your free act of kindness also provides them with a taste of what His grace through Jesus is like, something that cannot be bought or earned at any price. The card also serves as a warm invite for them to come to your place of worship where they can learn more of the love that Jesus has for them. Maybe also let them know of a school, a daycare, Sunday school program, VBS, and so on that you are providing in service to the Lord right in their own community. This is called Care-Share-Connect!

In doing so you will witness God in the Holy Spirit come to life. This will happen through the everyday people that you share is love with that will result in the opening of someones heart to a crisis they are going through at that very moment of their life. When you realize just what split second timing that had to take place for this moment to occur you will be left with no doubt as to His divine presence. Great faith building for all ages and you are growing His kingdom at the same time! The P.A.C.K. program is totally free just for signing up. This is because it serves as a reminder that God's love doesn't come with a catch, He doesn't want or need your money He wants your soul. Simply sign up at: https://acts18.org/christian-kindness/ and the link to the free program will be immediately provided and also sent to your e-mail address, (check spam just in case). God bless your service to His glorious Kingdom!
