Allied Air
Allied Air does more than make HVAC equipment. We’re creating a climate for shared success.
Staying ahead of the game in the HVAC industry means adapting to new regulations in real-time. Let's decode what's happening:
SEER2
The transition from SEER to SEER2 represents an update in efficiency standards, analogous to understanding the difference between highway and city mileage for HVAC systems. This change aims to reflect real-world energy consumption more accurately, and familiarity with SEER2 is crucial as it becomes the new standard in product evaluations and communications. Keep your eyes peeled for a SEER2 marker on Allied Air products starting in late 2024.
The Rise of Heat Pumps
Heat pumps are the future! While gas furnaces aren't disappearing just yet, being heat pump savvy is a surefire way to outpace your competition. Thanks to the recently introduced homeowner tax credit, the shift to heat pumps is more incentivized than ever.
New Refrigerant Transition
The American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act of 2020 requires an 85% phase-down of HFCs by 2035. In 2025, this phase-down begins with the introduction of lower global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants. Most major industry players, including Allied Air Enterprises, will be designing their equipment with R-454B — however, we’ll also see equipment with R-32. R-454B installation best practices will be the same as R-410A, with one addition: a refrigerant detection sensor (RDS) will be required on all R-454B systems, so dealers will need to verify that the RDS is installed and functioning properly.
