Are You a "Job Dommer"?

Are You a "Job Dommer"?

A "Job Dommer" ... is a Job "Dominator"!

No, I'm not talking about walking all over your co-workers so you can climb the corporate ladder. It is quite the OPPOSITE of kicking others to the curb to promote your own self-interest!

Job Dommers are not workaholics either, putting work ahead of their personal or family life. By achieving the right mix of personal and work life, they will excel in ALL areas! They also may not be experts in their field... YET. You can be Job Dommer as a mechanic, a short order cook, an engineer, salesperson or a manager. Your title is not at all relevant.

A Job-Dommer is someone that goes the extra mile every day. They take the time to help co-workers regardless of what "team" they are on. Job Dommers help customers by providing over the top customer service, even when it is not contractually required. Job Dommers are GREAT connectors of people, bringing Billy and Susie together in a mutually beneficial way even (especially) when it doesn't personally benefit themselves. They are solution finders and creators, and they don't point out problems without also working towards positive solutions.

You can become a Job Dommer at ALL career levels, REGARDLESS of whether you are entry level & just starting out, or if you have already progressed to senior or executive management!

Job Dommers learn to see the big picture, work in sync with company objectives, and are promoters of their employer AND customer interests. Job Dommers are willing mentors, and obtain satisfaction from seeing OTHERS rise to the top. By doing these things, Job Dommers quickly build a reputation of excellence, and are rewarded well for their efforts.

I cannot claim to be great at this myself, but it is something that I am actively working toward. What about you?

Good thoughts! Its true like you said you can be a dommer at any level! It’s also true if you dominate at entry level, you won’t stay there long!

I am a firm believer in the notion that if you have time to do a thing, you have time to do it right.
