The Department of Revenue (DOR) is seeking to fill two Communication Consultant 4's as Outreach Liaisons?to support our newly established?Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC) division?as the Department works to encourage over 400,000 Washingtonians to apply for the credit.
One position is based in Wenatchee, Washington and another in Vancouver, Washington. Each will be responsible for assisting the outreach and community engagement needs of the Division by advancing the strategic planning of the Division’s Outreach and Community Partnerships program, and by increasing the linguistic capabilities of the Division.
You will use your knowledge and experiences of the different limited English proficiency (LEP) communities to provide advocacy and support for LEP applicants by serving as a liaison between the community and the WFTC and by providing important information and access to resources in the customer's preferred language.
To do this, you must go out into the community and gather information on potential service gaps, educational needs, communication gaps, privacy concerns, and customer service experiences. You are responsible for identifying community partners; researching methods of communication and reporting community preferences; translating documents and communications; developing presentations and presenting to external entities; planning and coordinating application drives; and building community trust.?

Each position requires traveling in the Central WA and Southwest WA regions to engage with community partners and promote the Working Families Tax Credit. It’s estimated that 70% of the work will be in the field doing outreach and attending community events.
