You and I

You and I

I really wish this were the article where I mentioned that a relationship has started. Not sure I would announce that on social media. Sadly, this article is about grammar. A beloved connection posts "Me and my team can help you."

He has disclosed how much he spend on coaching. There is a return on investment because he is doing well on this site and is engaging. His English teacher would be heartbroken when he posts "Me and my team".

My father could be abrasive. He showed the proper way of knowing when to say "Me" and when to use "I". Take the other person out of the sentence. Would you say "Me can help you?"

Not if you want credibility. I have heard some justify this error by saying "Me first". That is not right. Just because you incorporate your face on some jib jab video does not justify bad grammar.

Some get really offended if you correct their grammar. This is a male problem. Do people want to sound foolish? I can forgive certain things. I am not sure when to say "Who" and when to say "Whom".

There are times to use "Ain't". Anyone from the south can say "Y'all". It means "All of you". My sister has driven my mother up the wall with the proper use of "Good" versus "Well". I still wait for my sister's children to correct their grandmother when she doesn't "Feel good". Don't correct someone who is sick.

Present yourself in the best way possible. You never know who is reading any given post. Even if you think sounding wrong is "Cool"- it really isn't. Don't aggravate your audience. Especially when everything else about your presentation is great.

This is one of my pet peeves too, Thomas Jackson. I think a lot of it comes down to how & where you were raised, especially with today's lowered school standards. It also depends on your parents, and how important grammar was to them!
