Are you Hustling Hard to make your career grow or Just Someone’s Favorite? - Special focus on Women

Let’s face it, in the working world, you are either hustling 24/7, burning yourself out while trying to prove you are not just another cog in the machine OR you’re that one lucky person who’s sitting pretty, softly speaking because you are someone’s “favorite.” Must be nice for some, right?
In my honest opinion, here's the kicker for the women hustlers:
>> If you’re constantly grinding with an aim/goal in mind, here are a few questions you need to ask yourself:
- When’s the payoff coming? Are you clear on how your hard work will eventually pay off, or are you caught in the endless grind?
- Why is your approach not valued? Could it be that your efforts aren't being seen in the right light? Is there a better way to showcase your contributions?
- Who and how do you seek feedback? Are you regularly seeking input from peers and mentors who can provide constructive feedback, or are you stuck in your own echo chamber?
>> And if you’re in the “favorites” club, enjoy the perks while they last because tomorrow, who knows who’s next?
As women, we often feel like we have to work twice as hard just to be seen. But hustling without a purpose can easily lead to burnout.
The Real Truth Bomb:
Most of us are stuck somewhere in between. We struggle to get noticed, fight to stay relevant, and maybe—just maybe—find ourselves appreciated at least once if not now and then (honestly, only if we’re really lucky).
The questions to ask next are:
?? Are you hustling in a way that actually gets you somewhere?

?? Or are you just wearing yourself down for an occasional pat on the back that might not truly impact your growth?
I am a firm believer in “Try and try until you succeed,” i.e., giving my all to achieve my targeted goal. However, it is essential to also know when to stop! When to stop putting your energy into things that are not taking you places (as you imagined).
The Power Move:
Introspection is the key. If the desired outcome can’t be achieved even after all your efforts, move on or step back. Reach out to someone you can rely on and try gaining others’ perspectives too.
It’s 2024, and it's about time to stop glorifying the hustle or ego-massaging culture if it’s not getting us what we deserve. The real power move is figuring out:
- When to hustle
- When to push back, and
- When to demand a seat at the table (if you rightfully deserve it).
Women deserve recognition, not just for working hard but for working smart, and for knowing when to take control of their own narrative.
So, what’s your vibe today? Hustling hard or coasting on some VIP status?
