'You are Here'

After spending the last few months in the process of winding down my role (COO/CFO) at Stafford Business Group, I have officially buttoned up my work as of last week. It’s been so great to have the space over these months  to connect with past colleagues and coworkers and meet a lot of new people I hope to have in my network for a long time.

I’ve also put a dent in my business/professional development TBR stack. A few favorites (if you are interested):

  • Designing your Life - takes the design thinking process (ideate, ideate, ideate) and applies it to the different paths that can make a good life (with the aforementioned motto ‘You are Here’);
  • Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less - this one walks you through 90 day, 1 year, 5 year, 100 year (!) plans and helps you determine  important (productive) work vs  busy work;
  • So Good they Can’t Ignore You - all about cultivating career capital and doing deep work. Not finding your passion, but honing your craft.

Oh, and the podcasts – always with the podcasts!

A big thank you to everyone who has bounced around ideas and put some interesting opportunities in front of me. I’ve had great fun, felt inspired and energized, and have learned so much about what other folks are thinking about in their own day to day.

If you know of anyone I should talk to about ideas and opportunities where I can have impact and add value, please reach out ([email protected]). An organization that needs someone who spans operations, finance, and even some HR, but doesn't need to add team members in each separate function would be ideal. Would love to connect!
