You Have the Power

You Have the Power

Choose to improve power quality or energy efficiency or install renewable energy solutions to save money for your, or your client’s, business.

The power is yours, and it can be as simple as:

  1. Reviewing an electricity bill to see if there is a demand/kVA charge. If there is, a tailored Power Factor Correction (‘PFC’) could reduce those charges.
  2. Installing a bespoke Static Var Generator (‘SVG’) to provide high efficiency, reactive power compensation - an immediate and effective response to power quality problems in low and high-voltage electric power systems.
  3. Mitigating risks associated with harmonic damage with a customised Active Harmonic Filter (‘AHF’) solution to improve power quality.
  4. Going solar. Government rebates can provide up to 36% off the cost of large Commercial Solar Systems and give you a fantastic ROI.
  5. Getting an electric vehicle, doing away with fossil fuels and using solar power to charge your car with one of our Electric Vehicle Chargers.

POWER FACTOR CORRECTION

If you have, or a business you know has, poor power factor, a purpose-built Quality Energy Power Factor Correction (‘PFC’) unit can assist.

How can you tell if you or a business you know has poor power factor? It's often as simple as checking the electricity bill. If there is a kVA or demand charge, it's a good indication that poor power factor might be inflating these costs.

Power Factor is the ratio of real power to total power, expressed as a numerical value between 0 and 1. If your power factor is 0.7, you’re using - and being charged for - 30% more power than you should be. The closer your power factor is to 1, the more efficiently the business is consuming electricity.

Every one of our Australian manufactured PFC units is tested prior to delivery to ensure a smooth and worry-free installation process. We also conduct regular quality testing in a controlled environment - watch a video of our latest test Quality Testing for Quality Energy

DONT FORGET

  • The second round of ‘Solar for Apartments’ government grants to install a solar PV system on a Victorian apartment building (subject to suitability and eligibility), open for applications this month.
  • You can claim STC’s twice for solar PV systems.
  • Take advantage of current government rebates by installing commercial solar (up to 100kW) this year, prior to STC’s reducing by one fifteenth on 1 January 2025. Choose to continue to rent electricity from a retailer or harness the power of the sun and generate your own for free*.

CASE STUDY SPOTLIGHT - AUSTECH WIRE AND CABLE

A large electricity cable manufacturer in Braeside, Victoria, has a variety of state of the art, automated machinery and had a poor rolling power factor of .88 and .89. Quality Energy custom built and installed two Power Factor Correction Units for Austech who now has a power factor of .99 on both supplies. The results will include better protection for their equipment and reduced demand resulting in lower electricity bills and carbon emission savings.
