Are you happy & feeling good?
Today's newsletter is about doing things that make you feel good. Of course, everyone feels good about different things, but today I'm sharing some tips with you. Maybe you'll find something that's just right for you?
Your thoughts control you!
90% of the thoughts we think every day are the same thoughts we thought the day before. 90%! Oh, perhaps the phrase "You can't teach an old dog to sit" is appropriate here. Maybe that is a typical Swedish saying…. But it means something like – If you are too old, you can’t learn anything new….Of course, the longer you have been thinking the same thoughts, the more difficult it becomes to create new ways of thinking. But don't despair - of course you can teach an old dog to sit!
Yesterday I listened to Feel Better Live More, No. 384, with Dr. Rangan Chatterjee where he talked to Dr. Joe Dispenza. The theme was CHANGE, and how to get rid of negative thought patterns. Link to the podcast: https://open.spotify.com/episode/4eotYQ4T5dHYugDLjdf9Cy?si=5ae3b45b11404f70
The things that really resonated with me was:
The entire podcast "Feel better live more" is packed with different episodes with themes to make you feel better! On the one hand, there are longer episodes of about 1.5 hours, but if you just want to try it, there are also "Bite sizes" that are about 20 minutes long. It is soooo good! Dr. Chatterjee can be found in every social media imaginable, but here is the link to the podcast on Spotify:
I knew it - music is da shit!
The University of Geneva has delved deeper into the following question:
"Normal aging is associated with progressive cognitive decline. But can we train our brain to delay this process?"
The answer turns out to be YES! Playing music and listening to music both have positive effects on our brains.
I myself simply can't function without music - I feel physically bad without music. Music can be just as good as therapy sometimes. I find music for all feelings and states; joy, sorrow, exercise, dance, yoga, anger, stress, concentration, happiness and unhappiness! So therefore, double happiness when I ran past this interesting study that shows that music can prevent my brain's decay. I knew it!
To be included in the selection group for this research, the requirement was that you had not previously played any instrument/practiced music. So, then I think that the next step will be to level up from just LISTENING TO MUSIC to also PLAYING SOME INSTRUMENT... Because I'm going to live to be at least 100 years old! Piano perhaps?
The art of doing things that make you feel good doesn't just have to do with living a long life, it's also about taking care of your health to be able to FEEL GOOD HERE AND NOW.
Do you need a push to get started with your training?
Maybe the Parkrun training group is something for you? Parkrun is a free local event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or just watch. Parkrun is 5km and takes place every Saturday morning. For example, there are 11 different groups you can sign up for here in Sweden, but the movement is worldwide! Check out the link below... The group may be closer than you think!
Parkrun is positive, welcoming and inclusive. There is no time limit and no one comes last. Everyone is welcome to participate.
The New year can be re-energizing!
The fact that we've just entered a new year can often lead to us all getting a little extra energy. An extra nudge! A little extra energy that can be used to make small, small changes for the better. Maybe you want to add something that you don't have in your life today? Maybe you want to delete, or stop doing something? No matter what you choose to do, I want to encourage you to keep doing things that make you feel good!
Perhaps your change starts here: Changes: David Bowie https://open.spotify.com/track/0LrwgdLsFaWh9VXIjBRe8t?si=b2410bd4a1b44e63
Changes For You: My company is called Changes For You, and that's no coincidence. My "theme song" is simply about change! I work to make you feel better and create the life you want to live through change, big and small! In the same way, I work together with employers who needs changes. The methodology is the same, small small steps give the best results!
Dare to take the first small step! And enjoy the results!

1 年Yes, all limitations are in our thinking. I find all your points mentioned in your text are so important in relationship to making change and feeling good! And as you say, with som conscious commitment nothing is impossible! And I find it that small baby steps can sometimes be the best strategy to overcome fear around change as we by taking small steps get the direct experience that it is possible! Happy New year! :)
