Are You Happy?

What is the baseline for judging your happiness?
Are the artistes who wear bling-blings, flashing nice apparel, living in big houses and driving posh cars, really happy?
Are business folks who have hit breakthrough points happy? Are billionaires who sit on many economic panels really happy?
What do you seek out to justify your own happiness? That someone didn’t go to school and you did, but you don’t have a job? Are you seeking the unpleasantness in other peoples’ lives to justify your own reality?
Do you seek for the skies to turn blue (external factor) before you become happy (internal factor)?
Are we happy at work where fear hangs pretty on our doors and ceilings and walls, fear that stems from the notion of being penalized because we stumped the boss’ toes?
The industrial model operated by many organisations use fear as a catalyst, a pervading paradigm of the workplace.
Is happiness a choice? In the face of bleak reality that pervades our existence, I think so.
On the flip side, we can create our own stories. I think that is a paradigm the pentecostalism movement had on its banner at inception. It is not doubting reality, but being able to create a pleasant story in the midst of that murkiness.
“It is well” is better than spewing forth all the reasons why the cake got burnt.
What story are you creating?
