If you had just one life to live..

If you had just one life to live..

Let's face it, we're living in a world where the consumer is the currency; companies are either wooing them, cajoling them, appeasing them or pleasing them. Take away every coin and currency and it all boils down to consumers. You can have the very best product or service out there but if there are no consumers beating down your door, then you might as well have nothing. As a result, we've become collectors. Consumers, you and me; we cram our life full of food we will never finish (just in case we need a snack), clothes we will never fit into again (just in case) people we will probably never meet (aka social media) and ideas we will never actually live up to. It's true; consumerism has made us collectors, and in many instances dare we say it; hoarders.

Think about your own life, whether its ideas, relationships of home, that place where you hang your hat... (and your various types of headphones, various sets of linen, extra this and extra that, and that's not counting the sentimental baggage we travel with)... does it feel clear and calm like the first day of a long awaited holiday? If not, are you a hoarder of ideas, people, and "stuff"? You may be filling your life with so much clutter and 'responsibility' you actually don't need; with noise to the point that perhaps you're on the road to loosing the essence of who you are, and this should not be the case.It messes with our personal energy, and our ability to be the best we can be not only for ourselves but for others.

Ask yourself this; when last did you clear out your office space, or sort through that Facebook friends list? Could you be choosing better; better friendships, better relationships, better or more nourishing food and lifestyle alternatives or have you become the collector that simply opts for "more".

If it isn't making a positive difference in your life, isn't contributing to your peace and well being, or it's just occupying space without adding value at all and time has passed with it or them just "sitting there", here's a challenge; get rid of it. Or here's another way to start: next time you pull over at the Woolies or visit a get a friend request, consider if it's WORTHY of a spot in your life. You don't have to say "buy" to everything, certainly not people, certainly not excuses, and certainly not those things which eat away at your time or your sanity. What and who you choose to surround yourself should be of REAL benefit towards making you a better YOU as a whole.

If every time you met someone or wanted to buy something you heard a beep and a voice saying "Maximum capacity reached" what would you life look like then? How would you prioritize if you knew you have just ONE LIFE? oh, you do.. well...
