Are you going to regret your Career?

Regrets are what most old people have in the latest part of their life. When asked, most of them shared that they have regrets about missed opportunities and inaction.

According to an American study based on 270 people, the most commonly reported regrets are romance (19.3%), family (16.9%), education?(14.0%), career (13.8%), finance (9.9%), and parenting?(9.0%) (Morrison & Roese, 2011).

In their study "Action orientation, Consistency and feelings of regrets", Todd McElroy and Keith Dowd from the Department of Psychology, Appalachian State University found that action-oriented individuals who chose an option that involved not acting (inaction) had more regret that individuals who chose an option that involved acting (action).?

I asked myself the following questions: "Am I going to regret this?" If the answer is YES, I put the idea on my plan. Even If I am not going to work on it immediately, I keep it in mind. This helps me start Scaleword Consulting.

Once you have your vision, you prioritize everything you have according to your values and regrets. If something could be your biggest regrets, then Go for it first.

With this article, I would like to encourage all professionals who are thinking that they cannot change their career or think that "THIS IS IT" because of the system they live in. If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of your career path/corporate/domain, ask yourself if you are not going to regret not taking actions.
