Are you getting future ready?

Lockdown!!!
Activities came to a grinding halt. But you helped me relish beautiful memories of my life, you helped me find time to explore things that I have been wanting to do in so many years like spending time with my family, getting some ME-TIME, learning new skills and not to forget the household cleaning and chores.
BUT, you also came as a monstrous crisis on our economy.
During this lockdown our organisation had approached many Corporates offering our training services. While we were fortunate to get a few assignments, many a times we got a reply like “Right now is not the Right time as our businesses are suffering, sales are down, employees are not in 'work' mode, things are slow. Motivation is low due to fear of uncertainty, we are not comfortable with VIRTUAL SETTING etc. “
So, thoughts that cross my mind or rather questions I wish to ask Corporates are:
- Are you getting future ready?
- Should we not empower our Human Resources today with the skills that will help them have an edge over others?
- Should we not equip our Line Managers and Supervisors with skills and mindset required for managing deadlines, managing their team remotely, productivity tracking, team motivation, etc.
- Is this not the time to explore both our analytical and creative thinking and INNOVATE new ways of working for the New Normal and the post covid normal which will be an amalgamation of the best practices of the life we knew before covid and the current environment and one we will see once things are back in full operations ?
- Do we not need to support our employees achieve work life balance in such a challenging and new environment like a work from home(WFH) situation?
- People are here, only medium of Interacting has changed. Should we not get them ready to have the same impact on VIRTUAL PLATFORM as face to face interactions ?
Enough of ‘ OUT OF THE BOX‘ thinking, now it’s time to think as if there is “NO BOX”.
Business will happen, Business is people.
I leave you with food for thought. When the opportunity comes knocking and your employees are struggling with closing deals, Will that be the time to train?
OR , IS IT NOW ???
