Are You Getting Bitter or Better?
In life, we all go through various situations that shape our perspectives. Some provide direction to our calling, while others challenge and shake us. Some may even break us, while others leave us untouched. The crucial question is: are we becoming better or bitter?
We cannot prevent different situations from happening unless we stop living. Dire situations, in particular, present a phenomenal opportunity to assess our circumstances and the possibilities we've imagined. I used to think that showcasing my attributes was something to save for a bigger stage, but true leadership isn't about performing for recognition. The individuals I admire the most are those who act with integrity and passion regardless of who is watching or the recognition they receive. They do it because it's who they are.
When we reflect on past situations, there's often a better way we could have approached them, but that's alright. Making mistakes and growing from them is far better than doing nothing. As someone I admire once said, "Anyone can thrive in good situations; what truly matters is how you respond when you have every reason to be down." This wisdom resonates with me, especially when I feel like giving up. It's not about doing someone else's best but about being your best.
Let's take a look within ourselves. No matter whom we admire or draw inspiration from, it's their unconventional actions in conventional situations that inspire us. We all desire to reach that level someday. Instead of just looking, it's time to utilize these attributes and grow. Every situation, no matter how challenging, offers two options: to become better or bitter. It's just a matter of where we invest our energy.
