Are you experiencing desk job pain? Try this...

Over the past few weeks in my clinic, I’ve seen a significant number of people struggling with pain-related issues.

The link between sedentary work and pain is steadily increasing.

Since COVID-19, many companies have embraced working-from-home arrangements, which have removed much of the physical activity that used to be part of people’s daily routines.

Before the pandemic, many of us were starting our days by commuting—whether by tube, bus, car or simply walking. Even just 30 minutes of movement each day made a difference.

Now, however, many are spending their entire day, from morning until bedtime, stuck behind their desks.

Last week, I shared a post on LinkedIn discussing this issue, and it reached over 7,000 impressions—a clear indication that this is a widespread concern. If you missed it, you can find it HERE.

The important thing to remember about physical pain is this: we don’t have to live with it. There are many ways to take control and improve our well-being.

If you've watched the video above, you’ll have heard me mention the foam roller—a simple, affordable, and highly effective tool that’s become an essential part of my daily routine.

As a coach, I spend a lot of time on my feet, whether it’s in the gym or clinic. My days are filled with demonstrating exercises, helping clients rehab injuries, and performing sports massages.

By the end of the day, my body feels ready to collapse!

But spending just a few minutes with a foam roller at the start, middle, and end of the day has made an enormous difference for me—and it can for you too!

Here’s an example foam roller from Amazon. If you decide to get one, I’ve included some videos to help you get started.

A foam roller has a few different uses. But its primary use is self-myofascial release or self-massage.

Here are a few videos from our YouTube Channel.

First up, foam rolling the Quadriceps (thigh) muscles.

Next one, foam rolling the back!

There you have it. Two videos to help you relieve and even cure some pain problems you may be facing in your body.

It's a hectic week ahead for us at the Body Fix Coach. If there is something specific you need help with, just leave a comment below this article and, if you know anyone who this would be useful for, please share, and repost to your network.

As aways, Movement is medicine.
