As a lot of people head in to the last week of the school summer term, there is a realisation it will effect us all in different ways:

Commutes will be less busy for 6 weeks as there is less cars on the road/kids on busses.

Children will need looking after for 6 weeks (and no, locking them in their rooms with an ipad and Prime does not count as parenting).

The knock-knock ginger rate will increase by 3000% as kids try to entertain themselves as there is 'literally nothing to do round ere'.

However, one of the most significant ways it will affect people looking for a new position/interviewing/hiring will be the slowing down of recruitment processes.

Annual leave (curse those bloody price increases from holiday companies btw) will be far more prominent as people take their kids away. Which means interview slots for the next 6 weeks become more precious as diary alignment becomes more of a challenge.

If you're embarking on any form of hiring journey over the next 6 weeks do your best to be flexible, accommodating and understanding of peoples situations.

Ironically we have seen a real uptick in vacancies coming in, with companies wanting to get hiring done before September and the busy festive period!

This one happened to be between two people with seemingly diametrically opposed views on righteousness in recruitment.
