Meta Magic - Are you Entangled in the Quest for Purpose?
Anand, known in his village for his quiet pursuit of truth, was deeply immersed in spiritual practices, always yearning for a profound understanding of life. Yet, despite his relentless efforts, a sense of incompleteness persisted. Frustrated by this inner void, Anand resolved to seek answers from the revered sage, Ma Mathi, who resided deep within the forest.
With determination, Anand journeyed through the dense greenery, his mind consumed by the quest to uncover life's purpose. When he finally stood before Ma Mathi, her words shook the foundation of his beliefs.
"What if life has no purpose, Anand? What if the real issue lies in our constant need to find one?" she asked.
Stunned, Anand pressed her for more. Ma Mathi, smiling softly, turned her gaze towards the vast wilderness and said, "The true challenge is in accepting life as it is. Rivers flow, the sun rises and sets, the moon waxes and wanes. We seek meaning where there is none, when life itself is already enough."
Still puzzled, Anand remained silent, lost in thought. Ma Mathi continued, "Consider the man who endlessly pushes a boulder uphill, fully aware it will roll back down. Many would pity him, but what if his struggle is his freedom? He finds peace when he detaches from the outcome and learns to embrace the journey."
In that moment, Anand realized that his very search for answers had been his greatest obstacle. The effort itself was his liberation. For the first time, he felt a lightness, no longer weighed down by the need for certainty. He understood that he would keep pushing the boulder, not to reach the summit, but to dance with it along the way.
So, my question to you is — are you entangled in the quest for purpose?
