Are you enough? (poem)

Listening to Lewis Howes and Marisa Peer speak about the main problem she faces as a psychologist today, the notion that we're not enough as we are, I was compelled to write this during a FLOW writing session after my morning meditation. Does it apply to you?

"I am enough,

three words that call your bluff,

yet they’re missing from conversation,

with ourselves and with others, 

while we compare ourselves to peers and brothers,

only to feel deflation,

inflammation smothers our ego,

from here where do we go?, 

no where but backwards,

the sediment of our souls covers where the track was, 

we become actors,

adorning masks to cover up what we ourselves don’t value,

cooped up no longer emoting so let me tell you, 

you are what you choose to be,

and you get what you ask of life,

but if you choose or ask to be me or anyone else but yourself,

you’ll forever reside in strife, 

you are enough because your purpose is just to live,

in abundance and give in surplus, 

your energy your time,

its your call,

the most we can do is risk the fall,

for the good of all,

we know not doing so will be the regret that hurts us,

so just know one day you’ll see your worth,

one day you’ll see what I see,

someone of the earth birthed as who they were meant to be,

who they already are,

so relinquish your mask,

stop wearing it like a scar thats distinguished or tough,

and begin to see yourself for who you really are,

no more bluffs,

because you are,

you are enough."
